Even though numerous federal agencies have gone on record in recent months claiming that vaping is a gateway to teen smoking, multiple college-level studies are coming to light that definitively refute these claims. According to a research paper jointly published in January 2017 by scientists from two major American universities, there is absolutely no scientific evidence to suggest that e-cigarettes lead anyone, especially teenagers, to eventually smoke combustible cigarettes.

Donald Trump appears to have finally settled on former GlaxoSmithKline consultant Scott Gottlieb as his nominee to head the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a decision that may threaten the American vaping industry.  Gottlieb is a former FDA official of the George W. Bush era with long-standing ties to Big Pharma and the biotech industries.  The venture capitalist has reported received more than $400,000 in payments from pharmaceutical companies between 2013 and 2015 alone.

A new study recently released by scientists from Portland State University (PSU) refutes the controversial argument that e-cig vapor may contain alarmingly high levels of benzene, a chemical known to cause cancer.  Reminiscent of the days when the FDA, the CDC, and several other anti-vaping organizations would spread false rumors of formaldehyde-inducing vaping devices, the PSU researchers attempt to make a similar deadly connection.  However, their scientific conclusions ultimately prove the opposite point of view.
